Today I would like to introduce you to a brand new product from Stampin’ Up! called Memories & More. They are great packs of cards and accessories perfectly sized to fit in the pockets of our page protectors for scrapbooking. You might be saying to yourself but I don’t scrapbook. Well that is where the More comes in! These little beauties also work great for cards! Today’s card features one of the printed acetate cards from the Color Theory card pack over the top of my stamped image. They can add another layer of depth to any project.
Outside of card
Inside of card, perfect for that special crafty friend!
As we inch ever closer to Christmas it’s time to start making those holiday cards. I love the new Father Christmas stamp set from the 2016 Holiday Catalog. It has beautiful textured images with tons of definition and a bit of old world charm. I knew as soon as the catalog came out it would soon be one of my favorite stamp sets, especially when paired with a bit of new DSP! I hope you will enjoy this set as much as I do. I paired one of our new colors – Emerald Envy- with Cherry Cobbler for a great traditional Christmas color combo.
Have you started your Christmas cards yet? It’s already October and time to start thinking about those holiday cards. I know what your thinking ….. where did the time go…… how can it be that time already….. I am with you! It seems like 2016 is just flying by and I’m left trying to catch up.
Today’s card features a stamp set from our annual catalog, that was carried over from last year’s holiday catalog. I’m really glad this one stuck around. It has some very beautiful images and I love the font on the lettering. This is a multi layer card with bright bold colors for a little extra pop.
I also stamped the inside of the card. Now all I need to do is sign it and it’s ready to go.
BOO! Today’s card features a fun new set from the 2016 Holiday Catalog, Suite Seasons. You get 7 stamps for a variety of holidays from Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and more! It’s a great value with tons of options from one set. I’m sure it will be one of your go-to sets this holiday season and for many more to come.
I know the name of this pattern is a little questionable, lol. It’s been a busy season of wedding’s for me this summer and with two of my favorite couples getting married that meant not one but two large scale quilts! This one was made for my cousin’s oldest son. I love the way the colors in this jelly roll came together! Congratulations to Nathan and Samantha on your new life together may it be filled with love and laughter!

Today’s we have a Color My World challenge. I will have to admit that although I love these three colors I wouldn’t have automatically paired them together. However, I really like the way they came together in this fall colored birthday card.
Here is our challenge…..
And here is the front of my card…. to give the embossing a bit more punch I first put all three layers on the card and then ran it through my Big Shot. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze but the Big Shot can take it!
I brought some color to the inside by using a small leaf stamp from Lovely As A Tree and colored the stamps with markers. You’ll notice there are some extra white pieces in the middle of the card …. that’s what happens when you sign your card before taking a picture, lol. I didn’t want the intended recipient to see it on my blog before his birthday.
Today’s card feature a sentiment stamp set called Layering Love. Another great set from the 2016 annual catalog, it features 4 great sentiments in a big bold size. I paired it with some nice bright fall colors and a little bit of bling!
It’s Friday!! That means it’s time to share my other passion with you, quilting! This particular quilt was a true labor of love, it was made as a wedding gift for my “adopted daughter” whom I have watched blossom into a beautiful woman over the past umpteen years. I had to make up part of the pattern as I went along because I wanted to add theses beautiful passage from the Psalms into the quilt. It took a bit of trial and error to get the sizing right but I am over the moon pleased with how this one turned out. So here’s to you Steph and Mark may you have a marriage that stands the test of time and a love that lasts forever!
It’s that time of the week again! Time for another DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge. This week we were given a sketch challenge. I always find these a lot of fun. Sometimes it’s a new layout I haven’t thought of or an old friend I want to revisit. Today’s sketch is more of an old friend. Remember if you want to join me for these fun challenges you just have to become a member of my team. More information on the benefits of joining Stampin’ Up! can be found on my team page. Be sure to ask if you have any questions.
Here’s the sketch we were given this week
I chose to do a more masculine card today, as I always seem to run out of them.
I hand colored the Elk to give him a bit more dimension and am really pleased with the results. I love our markers for just that reason – so many ways to use them!
